About me

I’m a 40 – something year old Southern girl who is blessed beyond measure.  I LOVE horseback riding, camping and photography.  I have been married for 25 years to an awesome guy and have 2 grown children and one son in law.  We live on a small farm in NE Alabama.  I work full time for an Aircraft Structural Engineer (FAA-DER) in Albertville Alabama.   My life could only be improved by the addition of a grandchild, but I’m in no hurry for that.

I had surgery for the lap band on November 22nd after struggling with my weight for the past several years.  I’m hoping to lose about 100 lbs in the coming months/years.  I’m sure that my horses will appreciate it!

  1. I’m going tonight for an information seminar about bariatric surgery and am seriously considering the lap band. I write a private blog about my personal struggles with weight loss and it is really more a diary than anything else at this point. Today I decided to do a search to see if someone blogged publically about their weight loss journey and if it included bariatric surgery. I’m glad to have found your site and hope to follow you on your journey.

Hi Tricia. I just thought I’d add my belated “Congratulations!” I have read your blog and you are doing an amazing job. Weight loss is never a straight line but your downward trend is clear, and great! You seem to be learning so much, also, and will be in a great position to maintain the healthy weight that you achieve..

    • Thanks Kay for the encouragement. 🙂 Some days I find myself wondering if it will all be worth it, then I just shake it off and onward I go.
